Blog on the HIGHEST END computers and computer hardware

And one is left standing

Recently Apple Inc. announced at their annual developers confrence more commenley know as WWDC that they will be adding the formaly 13 inch macbook to the macbook Pro line. Now don’t get me wrong this is a really nice way to complete a line of notebooks, but what has happened to the Macbook line of apple computers. Currentley there stands one and only one Macbook laptop and that is the white plastic macbook. This laptop was the original Macbook back in the day and it still stands today as not just a great laptop but also as a great value for a Macbook, with the price comming in at $999.99, just under one thousand dollars. But I am not here to talk about why the white plastic Macbook is a great value no not today, i am here to talk about what will happen to the Macbook line of computers in the years to come. According to this post by techcrunch apple might be adding a tablet computer to the Mabook line, now that the 13inch Macbook has grown up and become a Macbook Pro,unfortunally as we saw at WWDC apple did not announce a tablet computer. If they decide to, apple can do what they did when they announced the new line of Macbooks and Macbook Pros with the uni-body design and have a private invite onley press event where they announce the product. But many say that apple might release a netbook according to a story posted on engadget the Commercial TimesDigiTimes has been spreading rumors about apple releasing a netbook in Q3, and if apple were to announce a netbook i feel that they would do it the same way as if they were to announce a tablet and hold a private invite only press event at their campus.  Cound these stories be true or could they just be rumors, at the time no one knows, and only time can tell what the screative and mysterious apple will bring to the table.

4 ways to save money on your next MAC/Apple store purchase

well i am in the market to buy a Mac Pro. i am not a apple fanboy, i have been using windows all my life, but i want to give apple a try. so as many other people i plan to buy a Mac. and for me it will be a Mac Pro. so i decided to put together a list of ways to save money on your next apple store purchase.

1. Of course the first way to save money is the awesome coupon, yes coupons, you can find a lot of saving my going online and looking up apple coupon codes.(Google is your friend.)

2. this way is going to cost you at first but it is going to save you money at the end. and the way is to buy a ADC (apple developer connection) select membership. the membership is $499.99 and for a student it is $99.99. so you may ask how will me paying 500 or 100 dollars save me money when i buy a MAC well i will tell you, when you get this membership you get some special perks such as Software Seeding Program where you can get Access to pre-release versions of the latest software from development and compatibility testing,  Technical Support where you can get insightful code-level assistance on almost any development topic, and more, but you still are wondering how am i saving money on my next apple store purchase well this is how, well its with something else that is included with the ADC select membership and that is the Hardware Purchase Program you can purchase a limited number of Apple Systems to use for “development and testing”. System availability, prices, terms of sale, and ordering methods vary by regin, so with this you can get a  significant savings on a range of apple hardware, but this is limited to the apple store online and as i stated before it is only available on certain apple computers.

3. Another way you can save money on your next purchase is to not have the amount of RAM you want in the computer installed by apple. what i mean by this is go to another vendor who sells apple memory like Newegg.com. you can get better deals on RAM for the computer and install it your self that if apple were to install it. A good example of this would be the Mac Pro you could have apple install 16 GB of ram but that will cost you an extra of $3,500 if you were to go that route. but if you just went with the standard 2GB and go to newegg.com and get the same amount of memory from them and install it your self and it will only cost you an extra $400 not including shipping, the memory i used to come up with this total her linked here. And you can do the same with the HDD and here is the example for that, if you were to add a 500GB hard drive to the second, third and fourth hard drive bay it would cost you$200 per hard drive cage which will come to a grand total of $600. On newegg.com you can get a Seagate Barracuda 500 GB hard drive for $89.99, so with that the grand total will come out the be $270 not including shipping, or $360 not including shipping if you were to replace all the hard drives. link to the hard drive i used to come up with this total is linked here.

4. this is a simple this that is mainly aimed to students. if you are a student and you are going to buy a MAC ask about the student discount and see if you are eligible and if so use the student discount.

so there you have it. my four ways of saving money on a future MAC/Apple Store purchase. if you have any other ways of saving money at the apple store please leave a comment saying how it can be done, it would be a great help to me and my reader. And as my dad always said “A penny saved is a penny earned”.

thanks for reading.

who are you saying hello to?

As most people, i watch video’s on youtube. i have seen many videos and something that i have noticed is in some of the videos when they start they say “Hello youtube”, WTF. I dont know about you but when did “youtube” become a person. when did youtube become someone that can be addressed, “youtube” is not a PERSON NOT A PERSON. i can understant if they were saying hi to the youtube community, but why don’t they just say that instead. why do they have to say “hi youtube”.

i just wanted to get that out there, you know state my opinion.

so what do you the reader think?

Huge card

i read all the comment that are left on my blog by reader, recently i read and approved a comment by Arthur Sid, he linked to me to a graphics card made by a company called Gainward, it is called the Gainward Rampage 700. The reason i am blogging about this is because this graphic card was like no other. this is a triple wide graphic card, which means it takes up THREE I/O Slots, but i have seen another card that is similar to this one it is bat by Palit, it is called the Palit Revolution 700 (Review by ComputerTV), the Specifications are also similar to this card. this graphic card is available for $931.70 AUD or $631.13 USD. which is a lot of money buy for any enthusist or someone who wants to have mad bragging rights this card is for you. Other than the fact that this is a tripe wide graphic card,it has Dual ATI RV770 GPU’s, the GPU Clockspeed is 790MHz, it has 2048MB of GDDR5 memory, Memory Clockspeed is 950(DDR3800)MHz, And of corse a 3 Slot cooler (Which is MASSIVE). by the size of the cooling system on this card i expect it to be easly overclocked, by a large amount. I would really like to see this put into a system and benchmarked.

Monster says its not a Monster

there is been a video out, which was made by the founder of Monster Cable and everyting else that monster deals with in intending to change the company’s sue happy/overpriced image. But there is a problem, they have created this image by themselves by suing everyone and charging $2 per inch for a six food HDMI cable!!!!! That is wack. They should be called SCAMSTER CABLE  not MONSTER CABLE.

Pictures Leaked on upcoming 55nm Geforce GTX 260

the Internet have been a buzz about a nvidia releasing a new 200 series card. Well Accoring to a Chinese site Expreview Nvidia will release a new 55nm GTX 260 along with a 55nm GTX295 (GTX 260 GX2) in January of 2009. And if past events tend to show us Nvidia will most likely be doing this core revision

. The site Expreview posted several pictures of the revised GTX 260, which it claims were sent in from a company by the name of Zotac. On top of the Die shrink the new graphic card looks to be built with a 10-layer PCB design rather than a 14

layer design as found on current GTX 260 and GTX 280 video cards, according to Expreview. The new revision also upgrades its 3+2 phase power module to a 4+2 phase power module. Other Specs. like the Stream processors (216) and core and memory frequencies, but my the core and memory frequencies not being changed you might not see a great increase in performance. But the heat output, power consumption, and overclocking potential should all be improved.

So far there has been no word on projected pricing.

HP black bird case for sale

so as people know the HP’s blackbird PC has been a great hit with people. but through out the sale of the blackbird many people have been wanting to get just the blackbirds case alone with out having to do configurations to the system. well a few months back HP sold 25 of it blackbird cases on a first come first serve basis, well now they are selling more blackbird cases for a limited time. to order one of these systems you have to call a number the number is 1.877.776.4752. the case is selling for $599.99 and $99.99 for shipping, these systems also come with a slimslot DVD RW+/- optical drive and 1.1KW power supply. this is pretty cool, i think this gives an opportunity to the case modders and UBER enthusiasts out there who really want to do more with the blackbird case and willing to pay the price to make it their own in many ways.
